Transcriptome & Genome Resources

About the Project:

Cephalopods are "Primates of the Sea". They independently developed very complex neural organizations & behaviors comparable to those in mammals. Here, we explore the genomic bases of such complexity starting with the sequencing and annotation of transcriptomes and genomes of selected cephalopod species - species know to be critical models for Neuroscience and Evolutionary Biology.

Considering the enormous complexity and large sizes of cephalopod genomes, these are open-ended projects. The web resources would be updated as ongoing sequencing data are assembled and annotated. This is a highly interdisciplinary project, and we welcome and encourage any collaboration.
